I have a teaching problem. my son was born 6/27/08. Right afterwards, he was sent to the NICU. When he was dc'd, three weeks later, I never received any breastfeeding teaching. He was given bottles in the NICU and developed a preference for them. He has just recently taken to eating from the breast. I am having a difficult time developing a schedule to feed him and keep him satisfied. Not to mention my supply has dropped since he came home. Please Help me.

You may need to support and stimulate the milk supply with a good hospital grade pump until you can transition the baby to fully breastfeed. Hopefully you are using a wide base/slow flow nipple as you work with him to teach him how to breastfeed. Above all, you would benefit with a one to one consult with a lactation consultant that can come up with a care plan to get breastfeeding on track.
