Hi there,
I would like to know if it's possible to keep nursing an almost 1 year old only in the mornings and evenings( and of course at night). I'm going back to work an dont want to pump while at work, so basically i wont be nursing my baby for like 9-10 hrs during the day and I will whenever she want s after I get home including the nights(she still nurses a few times at night). And also what will I need to do to keep up my milk supply?
Thanks in advance.
I really need some expert advise..please

Yes you can keep nursing her after you go back to work and only nurse her while you are home with her. Your body will adjust to the new schedule and the supply will adjust with it. Your supply will drop during the time you are away from her. You will eliminate the feedings during the 10 hours you are gone and that supply will lessen. It may take your body a few days depending on how many feedings will be eliminated, however, your production at night and when you are home with the baby, will continue as long as you feed her.

So I'm going to be okay If I don't pump while at work? Like you said it might take a few days till my body adjust, but I shouldn't be concerned about mastitis right? I had that in the early months and it wasn't fun. By the way she nurses 3-4 times a day plus eating some solids and I was thinking of giving her yogurt or other dairy to replace her daytime nursing.
Thx again
