ds1 was sitting on the floor, and ds2 ended up accidentally kicking him in the nose while they were playing. ds says he was kicked right at the tip of the nose in an upward motion....It bled immediately, but seems to have stopped now after about 5 minutes.....

How can I tell if it's broken? Of course it hurts, but Im not sure what kind of indications to look for.?

I would imagine that it swell up pretty bad, I don't know though, I've never had a broken nose. Is he still in pain?

he seems to be ok, I just gave him some Motrin. I think he is ok, I hope.

Deven has a deviated septum that is quite obvious when looking up his nose.

Symptoms of a broken nose include:

Nose pain.
Swelling of the nose.
A crooked or bent appearance.
Bruising around the nose or eyes.
A runny nose or a nosebleed.
A grating sound or feeling when the nose is touched or rubbed.
Blocked nasal passages.

I hope it's not broken.

thanks ladies....He seems to be ok, he says its a little sore but I don't see any swelling or anything. I gave him some Motrin and an Ice pack and he and ds2 are friends again, laying in my bed watching blues clues... :) Im just gonna watch it and hopefully it is fine, but if not our Ped is open on Saturday so we can make a visit if needed.
