3 week old eating every 2 hours

my 3 week old eats every 2 hours during the day and at night. i'm exhausted! my question is should i keep feeding him when he wants or should i start msking him go longer? his birth weight was 7 lbs 8 oz and he is 9lbs 2 oz today. thanks

Babies will decide how often to nurse based on how much milk your breasts store. So if he gets 2 oz every time he feeds and he needs to get at least 24-25 ounces in 24 hours, he'll need to eat often. I would continue to do what you're doing. Are you lying down to feed?

i am still doing the football hold, also sometimes he gets very upset while nursing and bears down on my breast while pulling away, but won't pull off.

Start practicing lying down in the morning and the afternoon so that at nighttime it is really simple to lie down and nurse. Your body is designed to sleep while baby feeds. That's why you are so tired!
