Hi there, I feel it maybe best to describe my baby & then our daily routine.
He is 3mo old & weighs a little over 10lbs. He doesn't suck for very long about 5min on one side & 3 on the next. Because of this he wants to eat every 1-2 hours. In the begining my milk production was 6oz from each side when I pumped. So I decided to start feeding him breast milk from the bottle during the day & let him nurse at night.
So our day starts at 5:30 am he wakes and nurses a total of 8 min (thats from each side). He gets a bottle at 8:00 am & I pump between 9:00am & 10:00am. He eats various bottles thru the day & I pump again between 4:00pm & 5:00pm. He continues to eat from a bottle in the evening & I pump again before bed about 9:00pm. Then our day starts over at 5:30am with him nursing.
After all that my milk production has started to slow down. It went from 36oz in a day to 24oz to 18 oz & now I am pushing all I have to get 12oz out in a day. With that same daily schedual. Help how do I get my milk production back. I have a dual Medela pump.
