i take lortabs and percocet for back pain can you tell me the effects that will have on my chil. sheis 4 weeks and 6 days old.
also can you pump and give the baby that milk and nurse twice a day and still have a sufficient milksupply?

The drugs are secreted into breastmilk. A very young baby may be more sensitive to this drug. Observe for sedation & constipation & apnea. Your dosage is also a factor. Your physician needs to know you are breastfeeding.

It is best for your supply if you can nurse exclusively when home with your baby. If milk is removed, milk is made, so it will depend upon how long and how often you are pumping. When babies nurse at the breast, they may stay on the breast longer than the time you would spend pumping.
