Constipation

My neice is 11 months old and quite constipated, her mom gives her lots of water and breast milk, but still no change, but she seldom gives her much solids. I read that yogurt (plain) was good to try. Any suggestions.

Has this constipation been diagnosed by a physician? Are the stools hard and dry?

Or is she having normal stools that are spread apart ......several days between stooling?

Has any formula been given?
