Anyone have any thoughts? opinions, stories?

I wish he had picked Evan Bayh. I really wanted Indiana to be a blue state in November.

The thing that bothers me the most about Biden is his strong belief in the death penalty, including non-violent offenders.

I think Bayh would have been a stronger choice - he's more middle of the road, so he would have appealed more to centrist voters. Biden is also a major-league windbag who loves to hear himself talk and is prone to gaffes. (For example, during the Alito hearings he spent about four rounds of questioning pontificating rather than asking questions. Even Democrats were saying that he came off as obnoxious. And in his speech yesterday he said that his wife's having a doctorate was "a problem." I'm not sure that highly educated women appreciated that comment.)

I think he may prove to be more of a liability than an asset to Obama.
