What can I do?
I really want to generate an income for myself, from home. I am thinking of 400 or so dollars a month, enough to pay for a newer model car, (2002) with LATCH, and for gas.
I have my twin boys, they are 1 yearold, and my 3yr old DS.
Maybe sell Avon? I dont think that will generate enough of an income to pay for a new/used car. Some sortofcraftmaking? Im thinking this will take too much time whichI dont have alot of.
Any ideas? Please help!

If your car is otherwise fine, I wouldn't take on a car payment simply to have lower anchors in the car. Seatbelt installations are just as safe as LATCH, and LATCH tops out at 40 or 48 pounds in most cars anyhow.

There are work-at-home jobs out there...I've applied for them along with the million other moms wanting to work at home. I decided I need to try working for myself, so I'm making baby accessories and selling them on the internet. I dont know what will happen
(websites not up yet) but I hope to be a success which means...I hope to be able to stay home w/my kids and pay my bills! Granted, working from home is tiring because work doesn't start until the kids are in bed.

I dont know the % of sales you keep with avon but there is JAFRA and you keep half. I was thinking of selling it but I dont know any one in this town.
I think making some sort of product if your crafty is a grat idea to.

I agree with this.
WRT to selling something crafty, and I'm only telling you this because I'm looking into it, it really depends on what you are thinking about making. With Ebay as popular as it is, the market is inundated with SAHMs making crafty stuff to sell, and it's tough to make a profit when people are out looking for a good deal.
What kind of talents do you have? Can you paint? Are you good with a camera? The market isn't so flooded in those areas, and you will likely have better luck if you're an artist. In other words, you will make money if you have something unique to sell.
I looked into sewing and selling slings, and did you know that you are personally liable if a baby falls out of a sling you made? That alone was enough for me to decide not to go that route. Whatever you decide to get into, make sure you research it thoroughly (where you will sell it, how much you can charge, profit margin, etc.)> Don't forget that your time is worth money, too. :)
How about Mary Kay? I think it's a little more popular than Avon (and Avon's prices are a lot lower), so it'd be easier to make a profit (I'm considering doing this in the next month or two). :)
HTH.

Oh I dont mean just for LATCH. My car is a 90 something Mitsubishi Galant and while it runs almost flawlessly it is a monster with gas, its power windows but the windows dont go down, the back doors dont open from the outside, so I cant put the child lock on, etc etc.
SO can fix all of these things (its part of what he work in) but with so much work our cars always end up last on the list!

Julie, I have a Mary Kay Business. You can PM me if you want me to give you the scoop.
(Camille & babyblue - I haven't forgotten about you two. :) I shall try you again, too.)

What about doing something like waitressing one or two nights a week? That way you can get a 'break', too. When I WAH with DS I found it VERY hard to do anything during the day when he was up and ended up staying up all hours of the night, and then I wasn't sleeping enough. Some people make it work, but I hated it. The only way I'd do it again is if DH and I worked out a schedule so that I could work while he was home, not at 3 a.m.
