I love what Ted Turner has done with his ranches. They are truly magnificent. He turns a profit on some of the most God forsaken land on earth while managing a very rich and diverse wildlife population back from the brink of extinction. I hope the Federal Government never gets a hold of his land. Ever.
Meanwhile, I'll have meat in the freezer for another year.

I feel stupid since I had to google oryx, but now I know something new. How would you describe their taste?

God-forsaken land or not, those properties are beautiful to me.
Congratulations on getting in on the hunt! Good luck!

They have the best meat I've ever tasted bar none. They have almost no fat on them. Essentially, they are a giant goat - without the taste of a goat. If I get one, it will be number 6. They are beautiful. Truly they are.

Wow, I've been around hunting all my life and had to google oryx too. I've never heard of them.

I've never had goat. I've eaten elk and caribou, though. They were both pretty good.
One of these days, I want to try ostrich.
