Hi everyone. I'm new to site and this whole forum thing. My baby is now 9 weeks and haven't had any real problems breastfeeding until now. Just recently she's been fussing everytime I try to feed and now will only take one side at each feeding. (she's been taking both sides for 10-15mins previously).
I was just wondering if this is normal or should i try making her take both breast at each feeding?
Thanks ahead of time for any inputs.

Babies needs change like the weather so try not to worry as it changes day to day! If she is satisfied after only one side that can be perfectly acceptable, just follow her cues and allow her as much access as she needs.

Thanks for the reply...being a new mom, I'm trying not to stress over every little thing, but its so hard, especially since everyone experiences things so differently.

I guess it was the fussing that got me more worried, I was afraid it was a "nursing strike."

My son only nursed from one side per feeding until he was about 8 months old. He grew fine. Follow baby's lead and trust your instincts. Welcome to the boards.

thanks...I just want to say that this site, esp the forum has been sooo helpful. It's nice to talk to those who are going through, or have been through the same situation.

I'm glad you found this site. This site has been very helpful to me also. I found this site a few years ago when my ds was a few weeks old.

I don't know...now she's fussing everytime I try to feed her. During the day, she fusses and cries, then she'll latch on and suck for about 5 mins, pulls off and then cries again. My husband gave her the bottle and she took to that fine. (I've been back to work 3 weeks now and pumping, so taking the bottle away is not an option for me). Then last night, I was able to nurse fine, she'd wake up and nurse on both sides for the most part and back to sleep. Then this morning, she started to fuss again. She started to take one side and then pulled off and wanted nothing to do with nursing. So I had to pump and bottlefeed. I really don't want to stop nursing, but don't know what to do. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. I just don't know what to do.
