Alrighty more questions on feeding...we started solids at 6 months and have gone very slowly. Baby is now a little over 8 months and we've kind of "made it through" the stage 1 stuff (all home made using wholesomebabyfood.com). He's still nursing several times a day (at least about 4-5 and 2 at night) and eating 1 or 2 cubes 1 time per day (I think it's like 2 ounces, not much). What do I do now? He only poops every 3 or 4 days too so I don't want to overload his system. Do I bump up to 2 times per day and keep with the purees? Or do I switch to "chunkier" soft finger foods at the one meal? BFing was so much easier, I miss the ease of it. Thanks!

a little bit of everything.
offer sipper cup of water or breastmilk as something new at the high chair. mine were quiet efficient with cups at an early age--which was good cause they never took a bottle.
begin to offer a bit thicker pureed foods--make that slow. mine could NOT handle pureed foods where all of a sudden there would be one chunk. thicker pureed foods or soft chunks were ok.
and begin to offer finger foods--if there is a pincer grasp. cheerios are world famous, but soft cooked other foods in small pieces. If you can gum it, baby can probably gum it too.

I have a baby who never took pureed foods from a spoon (her choice). Therefore, she started with soft finger foods at 8 or so months old. So, if you like, giving her a few of those wouldn't be a bad idea.
