4 mo. ago I gave birth and after intercourse, where I tore during delivery, still burns. The tear wasn't severe and was in the birth canal, wasn't an episiotomy. Asked the nurse (at my midwife office) about it and she said I'm still tender because I'm nursing. Does anyone else know anything about this? Has this been your experience after birth, as well?

The low estrogen levels during pg and bf cause the lining of the vagina to thin and that can cause burning. That is what I was told by my gyno when I finally went to him after years of discomfort. A yeast infection can also cause burning with intercourse. You should see your OB/GYN.

It took about 7 or 8 months after giving birth for me to be able to comfortable have sex. I had intense burning during penetration. In time, it went away.

I agree with the others. Astroglide is your friend. :)
