Anyone that had the lipase issue, can you please help me? My 7 week old baby will not drink the scalded milk. I use a bottle warmer and get it to about 170-180 then take it out, chill the milk in ice water, then refrigerate. I tried freezing it as well. She will drink 1 to 2 oz., then will refuse the bottle all together. I have to finish breast feeding her. I thought I had the lipase issue because my 1 month old frozen milk smelled like metal when heated. I heated a week old frozen bag and it did not smell at all. Also the fact that most of my warmed, refrigerated milk she will not drink. Some times I can remember that she did drink warmed refrigerated milk, but me and my husband cannot remember how long it had been refrigerated. So I threw out my 45 bags that I had saved for starting back to work. My refrigerated scalded/unscalded milk also does not have any smell to it, and she still will not drink it. My fresh expressed milk does not have a smell either. I tasted both and they pretty much taste the same to me. Now I am not sure if she is just not taking to the bottle well, or if I have the lipase issue plus a bottle strike issue. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

I wouldn't throw anything out just yet.
she may have decided that she doesnt' want a bottle at all.
and then we'll have to find the long post on how to get baby to take a bottle that we had last week or the week before.

It may be lipase.
but you need to read thru all the other things about milk to ensure it's not a storage issue

I would also ask if you are eating, drinking or taking something new that would alter the taste of your milk?

How long has it been since baby successfully took a bottle of milk?
oh and 1-2 ounces is pretty reasonable intake for a 7 week old. they don't take in that much more milk just cause they are older.

Shew will drink from a bottle great if I pump, and then give it directly to her. She has never had a problem with fresh milk. I have to leave her on the 19th for 6 hours and I am unsure what to do.

Could prenatal elite cause this problem? I stopped taking it Monday to see if I have any changes.
