My son is a little over 8 months old and I'm thinking of joining la leche league with a friend. i know he's kind of "old" so do you think it's worth it? i'm planning to nurse for awhile still and thought the support might be nice...i'm guessing after a year i'll start to get the, "when are you going to wean that baby" question. please be honest and let me know your opinoins! thanks

I think it's worth it. Part of the $ goes to supporting moms breastfeeding worldwide. It's great where there are moms in various stages of nursing because everyone learns from each other. We still love to go and Allie is 3!

He's definately not old. I've only been to LLL meetings twice in the last 5 years but there were very few babies of lap baby age. The kids ranged in age from newborn to 5, or older during summer meetings.

I was a leader's kid and had to go to summer meetings until I was old enough to stay home by myself. There were lots of older nurslings!

I love LLL. DD is over 2 and we still go. I know every group is a little different but I doubt you would ever get the "when are you going to wean" question. That is just not what LLL is about.
