If he's spitting up after every feeding, he's getting milk, right?
He's probably going thru the 3 week growth spurt where babies want to nurse all the time. 3 weeks is just an average. Nurse him when he wants to nurse. Keep him on one side til he pulls off on his own so he gets more hindmilk which is richer in fat and calories. there is another post a day or two ago with a similar problem and there were a lot of helpful hints on that one. be sure you are burping well, and most of the time spit up is a laundry problem(more clothes get dirty) rather than a sign of problem.

If you're at your breaking point, maybe dad (or someone else) could do 1 feeding - with your pumped breastmilk? I've heard this is an idea to catch a few Zzzs.

Except your breasts need to be involved every time baby eats, either by nursing or pumping. So sleeping while baby is being fed a bottle could be counterproductive to your supply if done more than a time or two.

Have you tried laying down while nursing? If not, give it a try. It will allow you to snooze while nursing. Lay in your BED, not the couch (not safe), on your side. Pull the baby in and latch. Put a pillow behind your back to support it.

Your baby loves being close to you. Have you tried a sling or baby carrier?

The wrap I have doesn't work well for us. I think I need to try a sling.

I loved my Mobywrap. They are not that expensive and once you learn how to sling it (takes a day or so) it's fabulous. YOu can make your own, which is even cheaper.

See here for their site to show you what i am talking about: http://www.mobywrap.com/t-instructions-NewBorn.aspx

Ask someone to bring you a doughnut. Seriously, if you are feeding a newborn non-stop you need some extra fat and calories.

Try nursing lying down in bed- side-lying works well. You and baby can fall asleep at the end of the nursing session together.

If baby is spitting up A LOT, try feeding from only one breast at a nursing session (possibly even for two or three sessions).

Very likely baby is in a growth spurt. His feeding pattern and frequency should settle down after a few days if you just go with feeding him whenever he wants it.

My DD2 spit up after every meal and was diagnosed with reflux very early on. Try making sure you are taking long enough in between sides with burping and try to keep baby in an upright position and still, for a good half hour after eating. The gentle motion of a baby swing was enough to make my DD2 spit, so be wary.

Try not to worry about housework or other responsibilities, someone else will have to pick up the slack! Right now, you need to concentrate on building a good supply and sometimes that means nursing non~stop:) For about eight weeks, it will feel like that is all you do! Hang in there, nursin momma:)
