I tell ya, there have been so many times that I wondered if I had a nursing strike going on because she was nursing less often on certain days but this has got to be one! baby girl went to bed last night around 8pm and nursed for a bit and didn't wake up again until 4am and she nursed on just one side and went back to sleep. she woke up again 2 hours later but didn't nurse again until around 8am, refused when I offered before that. she only nursed on one side then too. she refused to nurse all day long! she went from 8am to 9pm with out nursing one bit and when she finally nursed at 9pm, she only nursed for about 3 minutes and she only did that because she was 1/2 asleep when I put her to the breast! if this is not the start of a nursing strike, I don't know what is.
I tell ya, my poor boobs don't know what to do!
baby girl will be 1 year old on this coming Thursday and i keep hearing that a baby that doesn't take bottles won't wean this early but I dunno.
weaning or nursing strike?

Nursing strike! DS had a nursing strike right around that age. It lasted 3 or so days and I had to tend to a pluged duct because of it. Is she cutting new teeth? Have a cold?

she is a bit snotty nosed. always seems to be teething. she has 7 teeth now and the 1st one came in at 6 months so we are at an average of just over 1 tooth a month.

Nursing strike. A 12 month old will not wean naturally or that suddenly.

DS would striked when getting he jaw teeth, they seemed to really hurt him, and also if he was stuffy nosed with a cold.

I would almost say weaning. My ds self weaned around that time. He could already walk and talk, so he was WAY to busy to nurse. Is dd walking?

I think it is a nursing strike, too. Be careful of plugged ducts.

ANYTIME your baby refuses to nurse, I would immediately treat for teething. During the day, give your baby something frozen to gnaw on, like frozen fruit or a frozen bagel for a minimum of twenty minutes, I always give the full recommended dose of Hylands as well.

This thursday? As in 9-11? That's my little girl's first birthday! Mine doesn't take a bottle either ;)
Nursing Strike, maybe teeth too! My llittle one nurses more when her teeth bother her.
