Sulfur smelling bf baby poo

Has anyone dealt with this? A friend's baby has a baby with the most awful smelling poo! LOL It smells strongly of sulfur. I've never had a bf baby who's poo smelled like that.

not sure. what mom eats does effect baby's poop a bit. sulfur makes me think of rotten eggs so maybe mom is eating a lot of eggs, or there is an egg intolerance in baby?

This sounds like a food allergy/sensitivity. Dealt with multiple food allergies in my DD and her BM's smelled awful at times.

Any other symptoms? Mucously stools, blood streak stools, extra gassy, fussy, red ring around anus? All or none of these symptoms can accompany an allergy, but still worth asking.

Maybe mom wants to eliminate things out of her diet? One at a time or all in one shot. If so, tell her to start with the top 8 allergens or most allergenic such as: dairy, soy, wheat, egg, shellfish, peanuts (all nuts - tree nuts), fish, and shellfish.

I agree with the pp about a food allergy. My niece was ebf and her dodo would smell like butter popcorn, turns out she was having a reaction to diary.
