What is the procedure called that is referenced in the Bible? I mean the one where they just snip a line so you can push the skin back?

I told my fiance that we will only consider another child if we are on the same page about this. I think I convinced him with the video in the other thread. I told him our child can decide on his own later (much after diapers).

I don't know but usually by toddlerhood you can pull the skin back either way. ;) Or at least he can!

The Bible talks about circumcision. I am pretty sure it doesn't talk about any other kind of... penis alteration.

Snipping a line sounds like supercision. Maybe that's what you are thinking of.

From the Christian - anti-circ articles I read online, they refer to the circumcision in the bible as a snip, not a removal of anything (or just a bit of the tip skin only). I was trying to find the medical term to research that too.

I've seen people talk about that here calling it 'a partial circ'. Despite getting to keep some of the foreskin, the pain and other negative repercussions or circ are still a part of it.

A Bris Milah. They had a shield that they would slip the foreskin into and cut the end off. Things change though and at somepoint to many jews were trying to look uncircumcised so they started cutting more off.

There are three important stages to the Bris process:

Chituch - The removing of the foreskin.

Priah - Uncovering the flesh under the foreskin.

Metzizah - Drawing the blood out of the wound and surrounding areas

I do believe that the actual cutting is quick but they still have to seperate the foreskin(I believe they used to do it with a long fingernail). It's still going to hurt. The metzizah used to be done by putting the babies penis in the mohels mouth. Most don't do that now, but there are a few that do. There was a big thing in the news a few years ago after a baby died from herpes in NYC.
