Ok, is this lymes?

There'd been a little black thing in the middle (well, sort of middle, but where the red spot is) there a few days ago. I thought stinger and couldn't figure out how I could get stung by a bee and not feel it. It could have been a tick.

Sorry for the big photos originally. I never realized how bumpy and yucky my neck was. :(

Looks like my dd's lyme rash.

Those ticks can be so damn small, the size of a poppy seed! Are you in an area where there is a lot of Lyme?

If your doc thinks it is Lyme they will probably just have you start on the antibiotics now. Testing won't show anything yet.

We do live in a lymes area, my dog tested positve for it.

I would go in just to be extra sure. Better safe then sorry.
My mom had something like that on the back of her neck, and when she went in, it turned out to be a infected hair follicle. They gave her a shot of antibiotics, and a rx for more antibiotics and an antibiotic ointment.

That looks like a definite bullseye rash. I would get to the Dr asap so that you can get treatment if it's Lyme. I believe timing is really, really, important with lyme, like the difference in it going away or being a life long condition because treatment wasn't started soon enough.

Yeah it looks like lyme to me too :( Both my boys had it when they were younger
1 never got a rash :( the other one felt like he got stung by a bee.... he's allergic to bees so I kept a watch on it. The bulls eye showed up a couple days later :( At least we caught it early. My first son wasn't caught till he got a case of Bels Palsey :eek:

I went to the doctor, felt like an idiot as the rash had gone away by the time I got in there. Based on my description, I think particularly of the little black thing I thought was a stinger, she gave me a mega dose of antibiotic, a one time thing. If it's caught quick enough, that may be it. I think I'm running close to the tail end of it though - I think she was saying has to be taken within 4 days of tick. I think I had the tick Thursday, Friday or Saturday. (I've got great recall.) So, if it was Thursday or earlier, I'm at the late end of it.

In two weeks, I'll take a blood test. They'll send it to a lab and if it's negative, that's it. If it's positive, it goes somewhere else to see if it's something or another. So, I'm hanging out now.

I'd offered to show them pictures on the internet to show I'm not a lying hypochondriac. I really hate when the symptoms go away between the call and the appointment.
