there was a tv show on in the UK about using other mum's breastmilk for antibodies for your baby --- http://www.channel4.com/health/microsites/G/g-spot/other-peoples-breast-milk/programme.html -

Interesting topic, and there's a discussion that's been started on Plum Baby's Organic Baby Foods (http://www.plum-baby.co.uk) about it.. any one have an opinion? go to Other people's breastmilk? (http://www.plum-baby.co.uk/blog/2008/09/other-peoples-breast-milk/) and share your thoughts.

I'm a big supporter of informal private breast milk donation from mother to mother. There's a yahoo group that is called Milkshare.

If you need milk for your baby (or if someone you know has cancer), then it costs $15 to join milkshare.

If you are donating milk, there is no cost to join.

When you need milk, you just post what you are looking for (i.e milk that is free of any otc/rx medicines) and hopefully you can find a milk mama to donate to you.

When you have too much milk and want to donate to someone in need, then post and you will get tons of replies.

There's other sites out there too! I own one of the other ones.

Http://www.breastisbestbaby.com is a great one to join. It's newer, but it's well organized!
