"He has seen many men..." huh, what about all the service WOMEN??

He is speaking for a group that he is not a member of. He is not the voice of the Iraqi people. I can understand why he feels he is and why he speaks these words, he fought the way, but I don't buy them.

Is Iraq a better place than it was in 2002?
I don't know, but many of the Iraqi interviews I have seen so no, it is not, that the war torn nation that they live in is hell far worse than they could remember.
This is pure rhetoric, and I cannot accept it

I think McCain is playing dirty. He is banking that we, as Americans, will feel sorry for that young man who probably lost his leg in Iraq.

I have to disagree with him, I think the war was a mistake too. That shouldn't discredit the honorable men and women serving in our military, who have taken vows to honor the chain of command without question.

I have not taken that vow and am allowed to voice my concern over a possible overreaction and leading a country into war over supposed weapons of mass destruction that never even existed.

How does that man feel about being mislead? About being lied to? Let us not lose sight of the issues.

I know plenty of vets who believe the same way.

Likewise the opposite, and many who are still active too.

ITA, and I'll add a few more things: (1) It's understandable that the men and women in service want to believe they did the right thing; (2) We didn't go into Iraq for their "freedom"; (3) This is an advertisement for McCain, so it is not unbiased and may not even be an accurate representation of this man's feelings (hell, women who wear pads advertise tampons for money); and (4) Military donations favor Obama (http://www.usatoday.com/news/politics/election2008/2008-08-14-military-donations_N.htm).
