We are getting gusts of wind up to 50mph...It's kinda creepin me out, the power is going on and off....How is the weather where you are?

I read that Ike is still producing hurricane force winds in some areas. It sounds like you're getting tropical storm force winds.

It's almost 6 PM here. It's cloudy and 85° F (feels like 88°), and wind is 11mph.

Judy, It's so weird to be getting tropical storm force winds in OHIO....LOL

Dh drives for a living, I am super worried about him being on the road right now, even though he is most likley in his car on the way home, and it's not as dangerous as a big truck, it still scares the bejeepers out of me.

It has been windy here too. we lost power at church this morning, and then when we got home after dinner at my moms, our lawn furniture was everywhere. The little tikes slide had come apart (easily fixed) and rolled over the hill, and all the kiddos toys were making there way down our driveway towards the road. We lost a shutter too, and our winds were only 40 mph or so.

No Fair bm4! You are getting all my winds! I was supposed to get 60 to 80 mph winds and we didn't get anything!

We had strong winds all day, 70 MPH with lots of rain. Power was off and on for us and out for a lot of people. Knocked down a huge limb off a tree and smashed the neighbors fence.

Seems to be calmer now though thanks goodness.

We got winds up to 70mph today. Had a tree break off in my driveway. Power is just now coming back on after being off since 2 this afternoon. I'm so happy a 60 footer in my back yard held strong. That would have been a nightmare if it had snapped. School is closed tomorrow though, sure the kids will be happy about that.

At one point southern Ohio had wind speeds of 78 mph. We had wind at 68 mph last night. We were at my sisters this weekend and drove through a bit of the storm. It was beautiful.


On a side note: I live by Lake Erie and 50-70 mph winds coming off the lake isn't unheard of. We get that a lot during the winter. We used to live about 500ft from Lake Erie (by the house I grew up in) and the wind literally howls off the lake. Now, we live about 5 mins from the lake and we are a little higher up than we were before so we still get blasted. I love it.
