Not That I am, or will, or won't for that matter, but just because I have had too much coffee and Jake got a new science book with a neat little table of elements..

What if they made those little airbag thingies used to cushion stuff, but filled them with helium? Would it make a difference? Would the cost of the helium be worth the possible saving on weight of package?

I almost want to do an experiment and find out. Is it legal to incorporate helium in your post office packaging? I don't want to get arrested.

P.S. Jake is disappointed to learn that while Krypton is a real element, it has nothing at all to do with superman. That was a bummer.

LOL,
Well, I just googled it and according to what I read, helium costs about $2 for a cubic foot and it takes a cubic foot of helium to lift one ounce. So the increase in your package weight alone to accomodate those large bags of helium would cancel out the lift of the helium, not even factoring in the cost of the helium.

Now go to bed ;)

I was afraid that would be the case. One can't mail things in a mylar Balloon, now can one?

Thank you for putting my mind to rest on that one. I swear, I don't know what people did before the internets. Stuff like this used to bug me for days, and now, within minutes I can get some sort of resolution to anything that crosses through my brain.
