Is anyone in here 100% on this? We can't do it 100% in our household b/c it's too expensive for us to live that way, but we like to try our best as much as we can.
I'd like to buy 'green' diapers, but it's too pricey for me to be consistent.

But, I thought of this way to make it somewhat cheaper, and still feel better about myself. I started halfing say, Seventh Generation dish soap w/a cheaper brand I find at the 99cent store, like Joy or Ajax dish soap.

Meat and produce is trickier, but I guess you can use the 'dirty dozen' guidelines, and buy hormone free meat every other week?

What does everyone else do? Any other ideas?- robyn

We use cloth diapers. Much cheaper and greener. Plus, my little one breaks out in a rach with a paper diaper.

If we can't afford homrone free milk and meat, we sue alternate sources of protien that are cheaper.

Our house isn't entirely organic. But, we do the best we can. I have started using alternated green cleaning products like baking soda and vinegar to clean diapers and the kitchen.

We are not 100% but we do as much as we can.

We cloth diaper. My DD was also allergic to all other diapers. We use Allens Naturally on the diapers. We clean organic most of the time. We buy as much food as possible organic, but always our fruits (apples, peaches, strawberries, grapes)

I buy hormone free chicken, we do not buy anyother meats. We harvest the rest of our meat, ourself. we also bought DS as many organic clothes as possible because his skin is super sensitive, but there is just not a huge selection of clothing that we could actually afford.

We use cloth diapers too and we're starting to make the switch to green cleaning products. We've always recycled--even when we lived where we had to take it in. Now, we usually have more recycling than trash on pick up day. We also aren't entirely organic but like Wolverine, we do the best we can.

I know not everyone has the space or can do it but we have a garden and grow a lot of our own vegetables. I guess they're not technically organic as the soil isn't certified and we've composted non-organic produce but we don't use pesticides or additional non-organic fertilizers. It's amazing how much we can produce with a 16x16 garden and the feeling of going out to the garden and coming in with a whole bowl full of food is amazing. We are also starting to be more aware of our food and making healthier choices (more vegetarian dishes etc).

Some store brands have gone to hormone free milk. Publix store brand for example. It is 3.69 a gallon here- well it was last week anyway :(

We cannot afford hormone free meat either, I cannot afford to sell it in the restaurant either.

We cloth diaper. Our milk is 100% raw organic--it comes from our own goats. The chicken and pork we eat is also 100% organic, as we grow our own. We grow whatever we can and use the Farmer's Market for whatever we can't do ourselves (for example, we buy grassfed, hormone-free beef there because we're not equipped to have cattle right now).
