DS1 is 9 months old. I am a WAHM. He has rarely been left with a babysitter and I usually take him everywhere with me. Every few days he gets really, really bad about me even walking away from him. He really panics if I put him down.I mean so bad I have to sit on the floor with him to get him to play with toys and carry him in the sling the rest of the time.
I don't get this. He hasn't been left with a sitter for at least 3 weeks and that was onlhy for like a half an hour.
Why does he get this?
What can I do to calm his fears?
Any ideas?

kids go thru stages ... my kids have always been at daycare which is right down the hall from my office so i stop by often to visit with them, but when they hit around 9 months, both my girls cried when i would leave. my one dd gets hysterical when i leave the room at home. my 3 y/o is always chasing me around saying "wait for me!" i have tried to make them more secure but not sure how to do it, i think kids just get like that sometimes.

I am going through the same thing right now, except I think its worse, she does this tea kettle scream when I even make a movement that signals I"m getting up. When she wakes up from her nap she screams hysterically because i'm not there, and its bad. If you gain any advice from the expcerience help me out with some advice!!!!

It's a really normal stage. The fear and the panic are real. You leaving his sight is you being gone, and that's just terrifying at a certain age. When mine went through this, I just stayed with him and took him with me when I had to leave a room.
