Last pregnancy I slept/ate/played video games for 9 months..and was still exhausted alot. This time I have an almost three year old, a full time job, and somewhat of a social life.

I am feeling a little overwhelemed by the work day and am hoping that some people have advice or tips for working through pregnancy.

I am exhausted for one, and can barely keep my eyes open. I am a previous coffee fiend, over 1000mg a day during the work week. I am also feeling weird about food. I need to eat to keep my energy up, but every time food comes near me I don't want anything to do with it.

The emotions have started too. Yesterday at breakfast at our staff meeting in a resteraunt they brought me my fruit and toast and bacon. I was getting the normal fruit bowl and then decided I *needed* bacon. Then the bacon got there and I started trying to hold back tears to the horror of the waitress and my coworkers...and I managed to choke out "ITS NOT CRISPY". I got my self under control very quickly ... but seriously. I work retail. I deal with nasty angry people. I am getting nervous about my ability to stay calm and rational. If I am crying over non crispy bacon...

So yah..how did you all work through your pregnancy and survive?

I had the same problem with food. I just ate to survive. I also tried calorie rich healthy foods. I also work through my preganncies. I found them to be a great distraction. After the first trimester it gets easier
Good luck

It does get easier with time. I worked up until the Friday before I went in to be induced. Just remember that your baby is more important than your job. If you need to sit down and rest or take a few extra breaks during the day, go ahead and do it.

I also worked up until that Friday before my scheduled c-section that Monday.

I never had any emotional changes really with my pregnancy but I did have a hard time with food. I never had any cravings. I always knew what I didn't want but could never decide what I wanted...it was so weird. The one thing I did notice though was I was what I ate. If I ate very healthy then I felt very healthy, if I didn't eat well then I didn't feel well.

I have a theory about coffee, caffine and soda. Someone who is a heavy coffee drinker (or caffine drinker) to begin with has a really hard time with tiredness and pregnancy. I know several people like this and they are heavy coffee drinkers. I haven't had coffee, caffine or a carbonated soda since I was 13...which I think has contributed to my over health and my easy pregnancy. Of course I could be way off here but thats my 2 cents.

I hope things get easier for you.

It gets better. I think your body learns to adjust. I have worked through 3 pregnancies. Stay hydrated at work and keep some simple snacks around. I also try to make myself sit down as much as possible, I teach, so it isn't always the case.

i have worked and went to school thru all 3 pregnancies, terrible m/s, bad anemia, panic attacks, had my appendix out with the last one, went back to work the next week. i just do it, i try not to think about how crappy im feeling and just do it. plus my fiance is very helpful at home so in that area i didnt have to do a lot, once i came home i could sit down and relax ... and we out dinner out a lot lol

Like everyone said, it gets easier. I worked while in early labor with my son, and it was fine.

It's really hard for a pregnant women to eat foods. Sometimes your craving for some foods and when you see the food you change your mind again that you don't want to eat that and you're asking for another food.

Pregnancy is not really easy.

I have heard that second and subsequent pregnancies are harder 'cause your body already knows what changes are coming and will be harder. That being said....I also know the first trimester is the hardest.... so hang in there.

Eat well, it was amazing but true. If I ate healthy stuff like fruits, salads and whole grains, I felt good. But if I indulged in the occasional burger-I could feel the grease on the back of my throat.... it was aweful.

Have plenty of water and healthy snacks.....and best of luck with this pregnancy!!!

PS: Congratulations!!!!
