I'm just wondering how far along you were when you found out the sex of baby by regular ultrasound? I'm having one done tomorrow and thought about asking if they could tell me if baby is a boy or girl. I will be 17w,4days from LMP but baby has been measuring about 9 days behind. Do you think we could tell at 16 weeks? TIA.

It's possible to find out at 16 weeks. We found out the gender of both of ours at birth, lol (by choice!).

Good luck to you!

16 weeks with ds, 20 weeks with dd, and 24 weeks with this one, whenever he comes out.

I found out at 20 weeks with ds1 and 17 weeks with this baby. At 17 weeks you can easily tell on sonogram.

I don't ask the doctor if what is the sex of the baby because I want it to be surprise.

We found out the first time at about 19 weeks. This last time, we didn't find out. That was the best!!

I wasnt sure whether I wanted to find out, and DD had her legs totally crossed at our 5 month U/S. I really wanted a girl, and her Daddy has one of each already, so he was happy with either. At all of the next U/S, all we were told was "I THINK its a girl" So we really didnt know until I delivered, and after they placed her on my chest, the 1st place I looked was between her legs and they were right!

We tried to see on the ultrasound. DH and I saw a little girl but the dr is thinking a little boy. He did say that he was not even going to write it down because he is just guessing. I guess we will have to wait.

ETA: They did change my due date from March 4th back to Feb. 22nd. The baby has grown so much in 1 month. It's just amazing. We got to see him/her stretching it's legs and seen the tiny toes. Doc said everything looks perfect. Oh, and the heartbeat was 157.

With Konur it was as soon as they could tell, I am guessing at the 16 week. With Mali we did a homebirth with a midwife and opted to not do any U/S and found out her gender when she came out. I had two rules for attending her birth: 1. Dont tell me when, how or in what position to push and 2. Dont tell me the gender of my baby. I wanted to discover it all by myself.

I waited to find out with my son when he was born. I am 6 months now with a girl - I found out at 19 weeks. Truth be told, DH wanted to know more than I did. I was happy to wait until birth to have it confirmed she was a girl - but by 19 weeks, I had already had so many tests, DH just wanted to hear something that wasn't a precautionary test result (I'm 35, so my doctor is checking for everything......).

We waited until he was born, even though I had a gut feeling it was a boy. I was right! I loved not knowing, I think it made everything more fun. Especially since I'm high risk so I was always going in to get some test done & I had an amnio done but I still didn't want to know... Oh and everyone else thought I was having a girl bc I was so small, including my SO.
