Mimi - J.P. is mentioned in the acknowledgements at the back as well - what he said about J.P. is so touching. I think Jeff Pearlman, the author, is a great story teller, and Jeff Pearlman, the person, is a very decent and caring human being.

Viva, I ordered it from Amazon.com on the 16th and it came yesterday, so that was pretty quick. DH saw it when I opened the box (I had also ordered more Calvin and Hobbes books for dgs#1) and has been anxious to read J.P.'s story ever since Troll said the book was coming out, so I couldn't NOT give it to him :)

Troll, DH says we need to get together before football season is over ~ I think we should all invade Viva's for the SuperBowl!

Absolutely! I've heard she throws one heck of a party now and then ~ and I don't think she'd be opposed to some gate-crashers :hugegrin: Perhaps we should give her a heads up, though, you think? Or should we all just swoop down on her en masse?

We could pick you all up at the airport and surprise her, unless you think Dallas and Bears fans might get mobbed at the airport. In that case, we might have to disguise ourselves as Peyton fans momentarily, and then, like Superman, rip off our outer clothes in a phone booth ~ :p

Snackrack and Trollarious are married?!? I'm not to bright lately. I knew that people referred to his wife as snacks, but I thought her actual name was snacks and she didn't post here much anymore. lol

Thank you both for opening a part of your life to us. That story is beautiful and made me cry out of joy and sadness. I was unaware of it until snackrack posted about it at IHMMB.

Boys Will Be Boys by Jeff Pearlman ~ it is a book about the Dallas Cowboys and includes J. P.'s meeting with Troy Aikman, shortly before he died. Trollarious has posted the newspaper article here before...let me see if I can find it.
