Is it just me or has Malik NOT been there for the last few seasons? And Haleh? I know I saw Chuney last season.

I thought the entire episode sucked, the way it was written, everything. They killed off Pratt for what? Ratings? We only found out that Pratt was down when Frank told Haleh, then they cut back and he's on Bypass and oh yeah, he's dead. WTF?
Usually ER shows these on-the-edge-of-your-seat scenes where they try to save the person and last night we get Frank and Haleh in the hallway and we only found out he was brain dead as Nelah comes in the room and is told.

Carter didn't come back last night, but he was mentioned b/c he sent a gift and Kerry was mentioned b/c she sent a basket form Florida.
Carter is coming back this season. I wonder though if he will come back after Abby leaves? That would suck too, Carter should come back while Abby is still there imo.

I hope this entire last season doesn't suck as much as last night's episode did.

I guess there was an explosion in the ambulance he was riding in - and then they thought they stabilized him, but then I think his Carotid ended up hemmoraging or something.

They killed off Pratt because he didn't renew his contract for this season. He wanted off the show.

Yes, the ambulance he was riding in at the end of last season blew up. He seemed to be OK but then started spitting up blood. They couldn't bag him due to something in his throat so they just poked the tube right through his throat to save time. He ended up getting a hematoma in his throat and Nelah came in and did surgery on it right there. Something went wrong and he flat lined. He then went on a bypass machine and was pronounced brain dead. They took him off and donated his organs.

I agree that this episode was strange.. They killed him off so fast. No real story line just dead.

Exactly, it was all just so dull and blah. Even the acting was just blah. There was nothing there. The show is a drama and there was no drama.

I think they're just sacrificing the entire season to tie up loose ends and finish out existing contracts.

And there is not even a new episode coming on next week! We have to wait 2 weeks.
I know they often skip weeks in the middle of the season, but after the first episode? Wth?

I hardly watched it at all last year, mostly I'd just be busy and forget. I'd like to try to get into it again, especially with it being the last season, we'll see!

The baseball playoffs will be in full swing in two weeks, so I'll probably forget then,

There isn't a new episode next week because that is the night of the first VP debate between Biden and Palin. Personaly I would prefer to watch Grey's and ER than the VP debate. :)

I cried when they were wheeling Pratt to the OR. I loved him. I can't believe he won't be around anymore. When Morris gave his girl the ring Pratt had bought for her that was so sad. I really wish they had put a good-bye secen in there between Pratt and his GF. That would have been wonderful.
