View Full Version : I never thought I'd say this, but I think I agree with the House Republicans.

The House Democrats, Senate Democrats, Senate Republicans, and the administration are in agreement on the bailout plan, but the House Republicans are not. If I understand correctly, I agree with the House Republicans. What do you think?

Yeah, I don't like the idea of the government holding part ownership of private businesses.
I kinda like the insurance proposal from what I hear.

Yo, Uh, W-dude and congress peeps, yeah, um we don't, like really have 700 billion dollars? K?
Yeah, um, so we are all like making tater tot casseroles, carpooling to work, and fighting for overtime to pay the regular bills? So , yeah, we can't really help you guys.
But yo I can totally brainstorm with y'all.... You know who made, like, buckoo money in the past several years?
You guys should talk to the guys who like, made the commercials that said " no money down, you deserve it! " and " bad credit-no problem!" yeah, and the credit card people that hang out at colleges and will totally give you a pizza and a Pepsi if you get a credit card even if you totally don't have a job?
cause they like, totally caused all this shit.
Or, maybe all those mortgage dudes could start ebaying their stuff to cover it. that'd be cool. I would totally buy some mortgage CEO's Armani off ebay to make rockin quilts .
(just make sure you dudes ship to Canada. You'll sooo get more customers if you love up the Canadians.)
That'd be sweet.
kthnxbai.

LMAO.
I told dh that I don't want the big-ass CEOs to be on the streets. Let them live in regular ole' houses like the average person does. Actually, I'd go with below the national average since I think the average size is more than most families need. There are a lot of foreclosures sitting on the market around here that need new families; let them live in one (but not in one of the multi-million dollar ones).

I think the whole thing is sickening.
I am sick about the idea that the federal government is nationalizing the financial markets. I am sick about the idea that when the market recovers, the federal government will be able to make lots of money selling the undefaulted loans back to the private sector. I am sick about the idea that the federal government, could very well have a windfall of potentially trillions of dollars which will likely be used to expand the size of government.
I did read an interesting take on the whole thing by a former hedge fund manager in the WSJ yesterday.
