Interesting suggestion. Generally, I think PETA is a little OTT. However, our culture is so "icked out" by the thought of eating ice cream made from human milk but is conditioned to drink the breastmilk of a cow without thinking twice. I do think that point is noteworthy.

This was my comment on the debate board.
I agree that PETA can be crazy sometimes but I do appreciate the work they put into trying to change policies regarding animal rights.
I think expressed bm should be donated to babies who need it rather than a company to make ice cream but I don't think the request is over the top. At least it will get people thinking about the harmful effects of cow's milk and that breastmilk is best.

My Dh says that they are doing it in Switzerland or something. Using a 60/40 or something like that blend of human milk and cow's milk. All i could say was how are they getting that much? But I think it'd be awesome if there was a way to at least use part breastmilk in some things. Too bad you can't make it into cheese! I know I wouldn't volunteer to be in a milking farm though...

I think too many people are grossed out enough by NIP that they would be disgusted at the thought even tho they most likely drank breast milk as a baby

Ok, I too agree, that it would be better to donate to babies, then for icecream...although, I DO LOVE icecream!

the price of ice cream would go sky high because i sure would charge a ton of money for my breast milk!

I'd like to see it happen because I believe that if there was a market for human BM, and women would be paid for it, a lot more people would BF. Perhaps my logic is faulty, but that's how I see it going.
