Why on earth do people tell pregnant women this? Do they want to be applauded for their observation skills? Or slapped around a bit? No, I am just stuffing my shirt with a watermelon for the fun of it.

On that note, I have heard you look miserable several times. Really, this makes me feel just peachy. Who tells pregnant women these things?

Thanks for letting me whine. I am past my due date, and ready to have this baby as it is, with out the comments that other random people feel like making.

My still pregnant self with dd. We were trying to walk the baby out at an amusement park:

My favorites were,"You haven't had that baby yet?!" and "You need to have that baby!". Oh so helpful.
You look great. Baby will come when he's ready.

I have to say you look great and pretty happy for the situation. My favorite is "So are you ready for another one" like 2 days postpardum!

My GF is going through that today. Her due date was yesterday. It's really appalling to hear people say the things they do. She was trying to be nice but had had it by the Third hour of church. Someone touched her belly and said, "Still cooking that baby? I think the timer went off already" GF took some toys our of her bag and held them up like she was going to throw them. She said.. I'd watch it. I have toys I can throw at you! She always go over 1-2 weeks and gives birth to 6-7 lb babies. I make it a point to never say "How are you doing" How do you think someone is doing 10+ months pregnant? DUH! "Still pregnant?" "Your HUGE!" "Your not looking so good, feeling alright?" Yeah! Never productive!

Stay strong Steph! You'll be holding your little one soon enough!

I definitely hear ya! At church the other morning a woman said, "Whoa girl! When are you going to have that baby?" I already feel big the way it is & when I hear something like that it doesn't help at all! The other day my husband was looking at me strange & I asked him what was wrong & he proceeded to tell me that he thinks the baby is going to be a big baby. I gave him a look that let him know he probably shouldn't say anything else. :)

Thanks everyone.

Joyto5, she should have thrown the toys. I would have been glad to help her out. :)

It is also depressing to be told you look like you're still pregnant when the baby in question is nineteen months old.

Just sayin'.

I got plenty of "you're still pregnant? and "I bet you are tired" questions and ds was born the day before the due date. I started joking and told people at the office that I wasn't really pregnant, I just wanted to gain weight and not be judged!

If I was in a better mood, I would joke that I was a figment of their imagination.

Sorry, you are going through this, You look great and just hang in there. your baby will be here soon enough!

I used to get "I know you are ready to have that baby!" I would always comeback "Oh no she is much easier to take care in here than me chasing her out there!"

I've gotten "you sure your not have twins" and "wow your huge". Two things every pregnant woman longs to hear. Gahhh I hated all those stupid comments.

You look fabulous my dear!! Baby will be here before you know it!

Ahhh, yes, I have heard this many times. People think they are so clever and all I want to do is choke them. "rant"

I was ready to strangle all the people who kept telling me "You don't even look pregnant!" or "My belly is bigger than that after I eat too much pizza!" when Ingram was 2 weeks post due. Grrr. My belly wasn't that big, but I did gain 50 lbs-- it just went to my ankles in the form of nasty edema. I started lifting up my jeans so people could see my feet and cankles busting out of my flip-flops. That shut them up.

People kept saying, "Haven't you had that baby yet?" I finally started telling them, "Yeah I did, I just keep him tucked up under the shirt."

Hahaha... I only gained 20 lbs with my ds. After I had him, I lost that in about two weeks. 15 mos later and I've gained 25 lbs and have been asked numerous times if I'm pregnant again. Grrrrr!!
