So On the 16th, i had another lithotripsy done for multiple kidney stones which i have had done 6 times before on my right side, now they called this morning and the Dr. decided to do surgery again on my left side. Its painful afterwards and with a 2 month old whos nursing ihave to pump for a week to get enough milk for my mom and hubby to feed him. And I have to take my 4 year old to p-k and then i have my my 3 yr old and Stone at home while trying to recover.... i just wish the stones would stop forming. I formed 18 stones since my last surgery in 9/07, thats crazy

do you have a lot of minerals in your water?
if so, maybe you need to drink bottled water like you'd use to keep an iron from getting plugged with minerals, distilled water?

Thats all i drink, my stones are made from calcium. I have osteoporosis and the calcium i loose from my bones is causing the stones to form. But your right about the water, i firmly believe thats a huge cause of alot of peoples stones. plus all the other nasty stuff in tap water.

If you are breastfeeding, it should help with calcium loss and osteoporosis in the long term. your bones demineralize a bit when breastfeeding because of a set of hormones that researchers don't know exactly what causes it. But it's to allow more calcium to enter the breastmilk for baby. amazingly once you wean, a set of specialized hormones is released that allows your body to remineralize the calcium into your bones, which normally doesn't happen really easily. usually a breastfeeding woman's bone density is higher after breastfeeding than it was before. are you taking significant calcium supplementation?

I cant because i have extremly high calcium levels as it is. Im 26, and my bone density shows i have the bones of a 65 yr old pm woman. And i cannot take osteo medicine, b/c well im nursing, but also no studies have been done in women under 40, also bone regrowth will fosamax only shows improvement for about 7 yrs time, and then nothing. so what happens when i hit 65 and reallly need fosamax or something like it...

did you have this problem before you were pg and nursing?
I worry about people on fosamax, it eats holes in esophaguses and when you stop taking it, your bones fall apart faster than before.
I was gonna tell ya to stop taking calcium if you were taking it. ;) do you take a prenatal with calcium in it?

let's hope your bones do better after you stop nursing.

its been know that i have had it for 2 yrs, but it obviously started before then b/c of the loss of bone. I take a flintstones vitamin but thats it.

i have heared horrible stories from people on fosamax, the dr even told us that it cause facial bones to thin often leading to fractures in the face.
