I'm so scared of FA's, gas, constipation, etc that I don't have a clue what to eat and I'm eating pretty crappy. There are no allergies on either side of the family for as far back and I can trace. I hear people say that spicey and gassy foods affect your LO and then I hear they don't. I'm so confused. My LO has developed eczema and his poo's have been green for 3 weeks. Some yellow ones here and there.

(((hugs))) So are you suspecting allergies in you DC? Have you talked to your pedi about your concerns?

Are there ANY allergies in your family, not just FA's, but enviormental allergies, chemical allergies, etc?

Have you cut anything out of your diet yet?

No, there are no allergies of any kind....not even seasonal. I've stopped drinking milk but I don't know why. I don't think there is a FA issue but I don't know. Maybe I should just eat what I want....more healthy, well balanced and see what happens.

hmm... i don't know that I would reccomend cutting out alot of things if you don't even have a reason to suspect an allergy. Although a dairy free diet never hurts anyone! Also, FA history or not, I persoanly would not consume peanuts or treenuts. That is MPO.

How old is your DC? Have you brought up the eczema concerns to your pedi? FA can be a cause of eczema. What about detergents, soaps, shampoos, etc? Are you using free and clear products? I would reccomend that if you child has skin issues.

Moderation in all things hun. It's good to want to watch out for you LO's health and well-being but you can't worry yourself sick over it.

Eat what you normally would, if you introduce anything new, watch your LO and see his reaction. All of my kids would get a little gassy if I ate raw onions, garlic, chocolate, raw cabbage, broccoli and Orange juice. They outgrew it in time. Our family has no FA at all on either side.... No I Lie! DH gets a really bad stomach ache if he eats any pork products. It's never been officially diagnosed. I'm not a big fan of it so we don't have it.

Do what you can Meredith. Like you said. Eat healthy, well balanced. Limit refined foods and watch your LO's for any reactions. (((HUGS)))

Like Joy said, do keep an eye out for anything that might be a reaction. Taking special note when you eat something new.

Thanks for the encouragement. My LO will be 10 weeks friday. I have been using free soaps most of the time. I used Johnsons one time and didn't use it again. I switched from Dreft to Tide Sensitive/Free.

I like Joy's advice. I've always eaten as I normally would while pregnant and nursing. Congrats on your little guy.

For my DC free and clear most of the time, just does not cut it. Be consistent with the free and clear soaps, shampoos, detergents, and lotions and you may see a differance in your LO's skin.

We use All c&F
Allens naturally
Vanicream soaps and lotions
