My baby is now 8 months and I've been breastfeeding her since her birth. 10 days later, I'll have to leave her for an 8-day business trip, I'm wondering if I should wean my baby!:(

My baby is having instant cereals or congee for lunch and dinner. She drinks milk that I pumped the day before and I nursed her every night after work and during weekends. As she's teething right now, she can't sleep without sucking every night if she sees me around.

Since I'm worried that my milk supply cannot keep up without the stimulation from my baby's sucking, I don't know if I can continue breastfeeding after my return!

Thank you in advance for any advice!

I think you can continue, you'll just have to pump when ever baby usually eats while you're away (or as close as you can). Your supply might have to recover some when you get back. What are your plans for her while you're gone?

You can most definetly still nurse her when you get back. What plans do you have for you pumped milk? There is a Milk Share program where women all over the country donate their breastmilk to moms and babies in need. Many women use this sight to donate their milk to other mothers when they travel so it won't go bad and they won't have to haul it back with them.

Take a peek and see if it's something you would use. It's a good way to keep up your supply and donate.
