i wanted to get some views on soymilk over formula. what kinda to buy, how healthy is it for my baby and such. i will do anything to stay away from formula and i'm starting to dry up thanks to going back to work.

Me and DH drink soymilk...the Silk Soymilk brand. IIRC, on the side of the carton it says "not to be used as infant formula".
Your baby is really young to be giving regular soymilk if you ask me. If you're not going to give breast milk, then I think artificial milk (aka formula) is what is needed for your baby until at least age 1.
If you're really against formula, then would you consider using donated breast milk from another mama? I ask only because of your baby's age. That just seems too young to not have either breast milk or formula. Baby's not even old enough to begin solids or cereal.
I think soymilk is great for me and DH. We are adults though. Totally different than for a 4 month old baby.

I agree with the pp. I know it's hard but if you don't have milk right now your baby needs formula or someone else's milk. Baby won't get the nutrients he/she needs from soy or cows milk at this age. Could you pump more often to increase your supply?
