how much do they weigh and how tall (many inches) are they?

ds went to the dr yesterday and he weighs 20 lbs 10 oz and is 30 inches

he's in the 5% for weigh. yea that's low and I asked his pedi about it. she was like does he have an appetite? I said yes but slimness also runs in the family.
she said she wouldn't be too concerned about it unless he has a decreased appetite or he keeps flip flopping in weigh (4/08 he was 20 pounds, 6/08 he was 19 pounds now 10/08 he is 20 pounds)

My son is almost 14 months... I took him in at 13 months and he wieghed 18.9 pounds and was 28 inches long. He pretty much hadn't grown in the last 4 months and had only put on 10oz. He was in the 10th percentile so he is a little guy too. His doctor wasn't to worried about it. Try to remember that those charts are for formula feed babies and they tend to be alot bigger. Just keep feeding him and he will probably have a growth spurt soon.

I wouldn't worry. I haven't taken Rylan to the doc since his 18 month checkup (he is 26.5 months now). I suspect they would say he is small. He weighs 24 lbs. I won't be concerned unless he stops eating or stops meeting milestones.

As long as he stays on his own curve, he's fine-just small. someone has to be small, not every human is over 6 ft tall, right?

At 12-17 months DS was 20lbs and 31 inches
He is now 19 months and 22lbs

Sounds like your babe is just fine Momma! Both of my babes have been small.

DS is a chunk. He's 14.5 months old, 27 lbs & 30.5" tall. I admit I'm a little worried about the height. He stayed at the 90th percentile on height & weight until recently. Now he's around 50th on height, but still 90th for weight. I guess we all worry about something.

Cecily was 21lbs 13oz, 29 3/4 in. today, at 15 1/2 months. She was on the tall side but hit 29 in. at 9 months and has plateaued since then.

Let's see, ds was 33 inches and maybe 26 or 27 lbs. I can't remember what dd was. I think she was 28 or 29 inches and 24 lbs.

Both my children did a ton of growing in their second year of life. They have both been all over the growth curve.

He sounds perfect!

well although my husband is tall now, he was a pip squeak up until after high school graduation. I am somewhat tall...

but yea I know everyone grows different...I just wanted to see where everyone's lo's were at....I'm not worried about my lil Prince. :)

My ds at 15 mos was 20 lbs 6 oz and 28.5".

DD at 15 mos was 18 lbs 8 oz and 28.5".

Both my kids have always been small. Genetics plays a huge roll. Even now ds at age 5 1/2 is 35 lbs and not quite 40". DD at a little over 3 is 25 lbs and 35 1/4".

Try not too worry. As long as they are healthy, eating properly and gaining weight (albeit slowly) they tend to be just fine.

got another question......

does your 15 month old feed themselves yet? ds reaches for the spoon when I feed him...should I try to let him feed himself? I just don't want to deal with the mess lol

DS was very solid delayed so he didn't feed himself nor let me feed him at that age. (His non-breastmilk food was a smoothie).
DD, on the other hand, made me realize why toddlers use high chairs and how much mess they can make! She never dumped bowls of food out or anything but still managed to make a mess. By 15 months, she fed herself. Actually, Miss Independant wouldn't let me feed her solids once she turned 8 months old.

I'd definately let him feed himself. Maybe you could start by feeding him any messy foods and then letting him finish up. Or, since my DD didn't eat much, there wasn't much to spill though it got everywhere. She was really into chunky foods too so that cut down on some of the mess. I'd find myself not giving her messy foods except at dinner time so it was less time spent cleaning up!

yea I was thinking about letting him feed himself at dinner time b/c that's right before bath time...that way...he can make all the mess I'll allow him to make (lol) and he will just get cleaned up right after wards.

My little guy feeds himself almost all of the time. He likes to be able to use his fork/spoon like we have.
