I was reading an article on the contaminated milk powder in China, and there was a picture of a woman bottle feeding her baby. The caption said that the baby was being fed coconut juice that was watered down.
While I doubt the woman had much choice, how bad would that be for a baby? I can't imagine that it would be very good, but I know that there is much worse that the baby could be given.

I am no expert (not even close) but I do know coconut juice is EXTREMELY sweet so i'd be quite worried about that. Also, unless it is well strained, there are also tiny pieces that could irritate baby.

I know there must be other reasons but those are the only ones i'd knw of

The juice straight out of the coconut isn't really sweet at all. And there aren't tiny pieces in it. It's probably not proper nutrition though. :)
