Dinner disaster

It all started out so innocent...I took out pork chops and realized that there was only 2, so I took out a large salmon steak to thaw and things were looking up. DH notices that we are having fish and upon stopping by the store on the way home, he picks up a foil type smoke bag and some stuff for a recipe he found on the smoke bag. Even though DH does not cook and has never cooked a piece of fish, it was thoughtful and things were still looking good.

Turns out, he accidentally picked up fresh rosemary instead fresh dill, but things are still looking good. Bless his heart, he had such good intention.

Dinner gets started and things are on their way..somehow I manage to completely char the pork chops on the grill and DH catches the fish smoke bag with the fish on fire and our neighbors children are standing there with a somewhat freaked out look on their faces as we flap around and try to get everything under control.

We try to salvage dinner even though the pork is unrecognizable and the fish and veggies are the consistency of jerky. We ate a little of it and cracked jokes about it for a while before we made lovely box of Mac & Cheese LOL and snuggled down for Survivor. We make a great team :)

Of note: Broccoli takes terrible with rosemary! :p I thought everything went well with rosemary Whatta night! :mhihi:

My DH doesn't care if food is burned, so I fed him the burned quesadillas last night.
