About how much is okay? I am at around 4lbs down, I am eight weeks pregnant. I know some is okay, and I am not alarmed or anything, just trying to keep an eye on things. My first appointment is not for another two weeks so I can't ask yet..

It depends on a lot of things - like if you were underweight to start with and how fast you're losing it. When I was pg with DD, I lost 6 lbs in 2 days - which was over 5% of my total weight. (I wasn't underweight but was a healthy weight and small to start with). My dr was concerned. With DS, I lost 3 lbs in 3 weeks, and my dr was concerned but just enough to want to keep an eye on it.

I do lose weight at the start of all my pgs due to hyperemesis. It's more the loss of fluids that my drs worry about. However, my weight loss at the start is a yellow flag to them since I'm small to start with.

a friend of mine lost 27 lbs in the first trimester with her last baby due to nausea. This was not good but her baby was fine. This is the same woman who's third baby was over 11 lbs and she'd only gained 25 though the whole pregnancy.

I've lost 24lbs with this pregnancy. I am overweight. I had some serious nausea that is just now slowing down. Nothing had been said until last appt. He just asked if I was dieting or if it was from eating healthier. I have lost 6 more lbs from last time so I don't know if more will be said.

I only gained 5 lbs with my last pregnancy and was down 5 lbs for my first pregnancy. I was a little over weight but not too much.
I was told as long as the baby was growing there was nothing to worry about
