Hi. I'm not new here...but haven't been around in a while (like years!) because...well, I thought I was finished with babies and breastfeeding!
But my DH and I were uncertain if we wanted a 3rd baby or not...and decided to try for 1 or 2 months and if it was meant to be, it would happen (given the stat for 40 yr olds is only 20% chance, we were not optimistic...although my prior pregnancies all happened at the drop of a hat...)

At any rate, I have missed my period and took 3 pregnancy tests. Each one had a faint, faint, faint, faint positive line w/in the appropriate "read before" deadline. So faint that I can almost convince myself it's not there...

DH does not think I'm pregnant. I'm not sure...waiting until next weekend to take another test. I never in my previous pregnancies had any real symptoms of pregnancy until much later....but my digestion has been out of whack the last 3 weeks...and I've felt breathless all day today (but that's likely my nerves). I think my breasts feel achy...until I poke at them and then they feel fine!

I guess I'm nervous because I never thought it would actually happen...given the odds....and now the risks of genetic problems seem so much more real when you may actually be pregnant rather than an abstract maybe.

Well...just rambling to calm my nerves....

Jane

I always say a line is a line so congrats! Keep us posted and take another test.
I also feel that pregnancy is risky no matter what the age so congrats for wanting to try again

A false negative is MUCH more likely than a false positive.

Honey, you are pregnant. Welcome back.

And about the risks of genetic problems, consider that if you had the same chances of winning the lottery that you have for having a healthy baby, you would certainly run out and buy a ticket.

Congratulations -- I agree that a faint line is still a line!

I had a really extremely faint line with DD and a darker line with DS, so maybe you are having a girl :) Congrats!! Also, my breasts were achy too with both kids. Poking them did not bother me in really early pregnant, that happened at about 2-3 months along, but they did still ache off and on for no apparent reason. Test again in a couple of days or go try a blood test. I do not have the patience to wait, I did a blood test with DD's faint line and I got a positive. Again, congrats!!
