I will be returning to work in 2 weeks. I'm trying to get my milk supply up to have enough to freeze some for when I return to work. I bottle feed my LO breast milk during the day so that she gets use to that and nurse in the evening but I can't seem to build a supply. I've tried the fenugreek, it didn't seem to work. The Nature's Pantry recommended I try 'Mother's lactation tonic'. Do you recommend this and any advise on building up enough for returning to work???

One last question: Is it ok to use a contraceptive containing nonoxynol-9 while breastfeeding???

Thanks.

Any hormonal contraceptive can potentially decrease your supply, but I do not know that it has any hormones in at, just a spermicide. It is not listed in Tom Hale's book, so I do not know for sure. Have you asked the pharmacist?

I recommend reading Working Without Weaning and you can access it through my website. www.thenewbornbaby.com/workingandpumping

Not yet. I just bought and thought about asking while I was typing the other question.

Have you heard anything about the Mother's Lactation Tonic??
