I was just curious for those who have had 3 or more if you get more uncomfortable earlier than the previous pregnancies?
I am soooo unbelievably uncomfortable and trying soooo hard to just keep my mouth shut and not complain. I hurt all the time, I never sleep, and I literally have to hold my damn boobs up because the pressure of them on my belly hurts so badly. I was uncomfortable with my first, but not until much later, then with Callie I felt pretty good throughout the whole pregnancy (well, maybe a teensy uncomfortable at the end)
I know it hasn't helped that I just got over the flu or something, but I have been feeling this badly for a long time now and I don't think I should this early?
Any thoughts?

I experienced being uncomfortable early on with my third. By the end of the pregnancy, I was actually experiencing pain...I hurt to walk, to sleep, to sit...it pretty much stunk. I did let my self gain about 15 pounds more than I should have, and that might have played a role in the uncomfortable feeling, and later pain.

I wonder if weight might be an issue, but I am eating pretty healthy for the most part. (although I have gotten pretty bad at skipping meals :(
I have gained a lot more than I would have liked (16 pounds), but considering I am over halfway the nurse told me not to worry about it.

ETA: Oh, and everyone might as well tell me I look like shit - they tell me over and over how tired I look and like I don't feel well :(

You've gained 16 pounds total, or over 16 pounds? I gained a total of 45 pounds...with my first two I gained 30. I actually ate healthier the third pregnancy, and workout more. With my first two, though, I lost quite a bit of weight the first trimester...which helped...and actually starting gaining the first trimester with my third. So, in my case, I definitely think it was weight...plus, being a little older.

I've only had two pregnancies that went that long, but I was extremely uncomfortable at that point (I'm going by your ticker - 28 weeks). I was in constant pain after 32 weeks.

At one point, I asked my midwife if it was normal to feel like I was going to die.

I'm sure you look just fine. I'm sorry to hear people are telling you otherwise.

16 total - with Carter I gained 52 and with Callie I gained 36-40 (not exactly sure what my starting weight was so it is approximate) so, I think that is good for so far - I have been really watching my weight - a little too much so in the beginning - it was really stressing me out!

Thank you, but I think I look pretty bad myself :(
I wish I could go get my hair done or something to at least look somewhat better!

So, did you end up going into labor early? My mom keeps saying I am going to go early (she and everyone else said that about my first two also though and I didn't - this time is different though - I didn't give them my LMP to go by - we went with the u/s and the dates are 16 days difference!) What did your midwife say? I don't even tell my dr. anymore as they never say anything about anything.

You're definitely doing a great job then!! :)

Whenever I can't go and get my hair done when I would like, I just spend some extra time on it instead (not everyday, but out of the blue some times). Maybe just try to squeeze in a little time to pamp yourself a bit at home, and you'll probably feel a lot better. If you haven't been wearing makeup lately, maybe just put on a little. I have gotten into the habit of just not wearing any...which is OK most of the time...but every once in a while, when I feel like crap...dressing myself up a bit helps. Especially when I am pregnant! :)

With my first I felt fine, with my second had a little trouble sleeping at night, hard to get comfy and stuffy nose off and on, with my third a little more trouble sleeping at night and a little more stuffy nose trouble. So, for me, yeah, more discomfort with subsequent pregnancies. But, I had my first when I was 21, then my second when I was 28 and my last at 31, and weighed more with each child as well, so that probably had much to do with how I felt.

Thank you - I still freak out a little about my weight, but try to not worry too much!
That is so true about feeling better just by putting on some makeup or spending more time on my hair. The thing is I would have to get up really really early to do that and since I don't usually make it to bed until 3am and the kids get up between 6-7 it is almost impossible! (I am supposed to go to a MOPS group in the morning though so hopefully I can do my makeup! :)

All of my pregnancies have been hell. To tell you the truth though I haven't had any problems with this one in a month or so. Hopefully that will last. With these last too I was sick all day in the first half of the pregnancy. At least I didn't end up in the hospital this time. I'm 6 months now so I'm hoping it stays calm like this. By the 7th month with Eli I was on medication to keep him from being too premature.

My vulvar varicosities started MUCH earlier this time. I already even have a vein going all the way down into my thigh which is causing a lot of issues.

My pg with DD was much more uncomfortable than my pg with DS. She was 12oz larger despite being born a week earlier. (41 instead of 42 weeks). Some of it may have done with age. Some of it was that I didn't get the veins with DS but did with DD. I gained 70+ in both pgs but with DS, the gain was fast in the middle and then evened out. With DD, I gained pretty evenly all along. I eat healthy and exercise but still gain excessive weight. For some odd reason, I've never had bad pain when pg despite pg pictures of me at the end that make other women's backs hurt just looking at them! Being in shape before I get pg causes a lot of pains not to happen - but there's a lot of pains that still happen!

My 2nd was way harder on me than my 1st, and uncomfortable alot earlier too. As fpr the peopel who tell you how "bad" you look, I'd tell them to kiss off. FIL would "nicely" do this to me every time I saw him when I was preggo with DS. "are you feeling ok, you look really bad." Fianlly I just told him, other than being 6,7,8,9months preggo I feel fine, do you feel ok?"

I do remember my 3rd and feeling quite uncomfortable. I'm 23 weeks (Trying to find my ticker LOL) with our 6th now and wonder how the crap I'm going to make it through this pregnancy. I have noticed a major difference after I started taking my pills before bed. Not sure if it's the extra calcium I'm taking or what but it's helping ease the pain on my hips and RLP. I can't take them during the day. They don't settle well, so I think it's odd how I sleep much better when I take them at night.

Are you getting the nutrition you need? That seems to be my biggest problem. Ohh and I had a soda.. the next day I felt like I wanted to crawl into a grave and bury myself.

My third was my easist. I had morning sickness that was horrible with all three. I gained a lot less weight though. I gained 70 lbs with my first, 40 with my second, and 18 with my third. My second was my hardest, but DD1 was much more demanding at 2 than DS is. DS was so easy on me when I was preggo with DD2. I also didn't start showing with DD2 until after I was 6 months along, and then I got huge. :)

I wonder if the amount of time between pregnancies makes a difference.

Aging isn't fun, is it?

Even if you're only 30, you're still not as young as you were the first time. PLus you say you've gained weight so your body is extra taxed.

Pregnancy will always be more uncomfortable for an older, out of shape you than a younger, slimmer you. That's true for us all.

Thats sorta what I was thinking.
Not that I have a clue about subsequent pregnancy-
but I did want to add that the end of my pregnancy with dd SUCked,I think mommy brain hormones seem to serve to help women forget that though.

Seems like EVERY woman i know preegy for the 2nd or third time says things like "i don't remember THIS being so bad"-but when they really think on it - it was..the memory is just replaced by those of more fun pregnancy things,
Or erased by the smell of newborn, and sleep deprived delirium

This is my third.I'm 21 weeks pregnant. It's been five years since my last baby. Right now I'm in the "good" phase. The first 17 weeks were basically me rolling around feeling nauseous 24/7. The big difference is my exhaustion level, it's much different this time. I'm way more tired. I'm also heavier (not a lot) then with my other two, although I've gained about 13 lbs since I became pregnant, that's not counting my pre IVF weight. I've got to watch that.
