I have a 6 week old and feel like I'm not making enough milk. She is constantly wanting to eat and doesn't seem to get full. I have not taken her to get weighed to see if she's putting on weight. She is having wet and dirty diapers, but some of the dirty diapers are not very "full" at times. I've pumped a few times and can barely get 2 oz out. I think part of the problem is she doesn't open wide enough to latch on and takes in just the nipple. Is there any advice or something I can take to get my supply going a little better?

Is this a recent behavior? Around six weeks of age is the time we see babies going through a growth spurt where they will have frequency days of nursing. It will seem like they are on the breast all the time.

It is always best to continue to nurse when your baby is wants to feed, but I would also get a weight check to make sure all is normal. When you are pumping, is this in place of a feed or are you pumping after nursing?

Any recent changes? Have you started birth control pills or anything going on that could have caused your milk supply to be affected?
