Judge Tosses Hair Dye Lawsuit for Blonde Who Had Less Fun as Brunette

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — A judge has brushed off a Connecticut woman's claim that L'Oreal Inc. ruined her social life when she accidentally dyed her hair brunette with one of its products.

Charlotte Feeney of Stratford said she can never return to her natural blonde hue, a shock that left her so traumatized she needed anti-depressants.

She says she suffered headaches and anxiety, missed the attention that blondes receive and had to stay home and wear hats most of the time.

A Superior Court judge dismissed Feeney's 2005 lawsuit Monday, saying she never proved her allegation that L'Oreal put brown hair dye in a box labeled as blonde. The company also had disputed the claim.

Feeney's attorney, David Laudano, declined to comment and she could not be reached after the judge's decision.

I can beat that.

DH had a fiance many years ago. Hr broke off the engagement and broke up with her because he didn't want to marry her. They were both about 28 yrs old, they didn't live together. They had dated for a year, been engaged for about 5 months.

She tried to sue him for a littany of things. Her claims were breach of contract, emotional distress, depression, she wanted every cent she'd spent on wedding planning back PLUS she wanetd to keep the engagement ring. And she wanted $10,000 in pain and injury. She even had medical bills to prove she'd been having headaches, depression, anxiety, sleep issues, yadda yadda. On top of all that, she was asking for 5% of his annual income for a period of 10 years because she WOULD have ben entitled to some of it had he completed his 'legally binding contract" ie: marrying her.

It got to court, beluieve it or not. She got nothing except her tearful plea in court for justice.

What an idiot. L'oreal should counter sue her for wasting their time.

She can't get her NATURAL blonde hue back but yet she was buying blonde hair dye?

What's so natural about hair dye of any shade?

Oh that is so rediculous. I bet the judge had a hard time not laughing at her.

I am hoping they did laugh at her and that her lawyer charged her for it.

I always used to worry about someone switching the bottles as a prank when I used to buy boxed hair dyes. Maybe that is what happened. I always used to double check the # on the bottle.

But if the # on the bottle was right and the wrong dye was IN the bottle, I think they would be responsible for something - I think her claims are ridiculous about it 'ruining her social life' and stuff, though. But whenever people sue they have to try to think up ways they were HARMED.

But seriously, if her hair is brown, to dye it blond they'd have to strip it and then redo it - that's pretty hard on the hair. I think she's entitled to something - not 'get rich' kind of compensation but a couple hundred to have it fixed - why not? This is assuming she COULD prove that the wrong dye was in the bottle labeled as blond.

You know, if she was blonde, she might have won the case. Maybe she should add that to her list of complaints. ;)
