My work, that is. I work for an RV dealership and things have been terrible this year. Today, they just had to cut everyone's pay by 5%, asked all the sales people to take voluntary layoffs, closed us for two weeks over the Holidays and laid off our cleaning lady. SO, I was waiting for them to pull me in the office...

They are not changing my pay and not laying me off. :woohoo:
They said that since I will be picking up a lot of slack now, and since I do such a good job and while I was maternity leave they basically freaked without me, that it wouldn't be fair to cut my pay.

Thank the stars and the gods and the tides and everything else out there. After having a terrible weekend and Cort and I realizing that we either give up our house or get a roommate, this one one bit of decent news.

I am sooooo relieved. I was getting really worried when they waited until the end of the day.

:hug: that is wonderful news!

DH has had a rough 2 days. He's had to fire 5 guys and lay 3 more off. He really hates this part of his job especially with the way things have been going lately.

I'm so happy for you! :)

I hate that the company is having to cut the pay of others and lay people off, though. The economy sucks right now.

Luckily, we haven't had to close like about 5 other dealerships in the area. THe reason they asked everyone to take a pay cut was to prevent lay offs and losing good employees. We have great owners, our other dealership has been open for 36 years, we have been open for 11 years and they have neveer had a year where they had to do lay offs. They said this is the worst year they have ever had.

Oh, and all the managers took a 25% pay decrease.

I am sorry your buisness is having trouble but I am glad for you, you must be an excelent worker. It must feel so good to be appreciated like that.
