I'm putting this on Craigslists and more because I not only want to thank the person but also let everyone know that there still are good hearted, decent people in the world.

At about 11:00am, I sat down in the shade in the Africa section of Epcot's World Showcase to slather my pasty son with more sunblock. I took off my rings to avoid getting them greasy and dirty. I set them right down beside me, on the short rock wall. I meant to put them right back on. I never even take them off when I'm not at work. But those musical toys right next door, the drums and tamborines, the udus and rainsticks were just too irresistable for my three year old and he took off, slipping right out of my SPF 50'd hands. I chased him down, wrestled him into his stroller and then became distracted myself by the incredible smell of Durban Spiced chicken. Damn you, Cape Town appetizer cart!

Hours later, while washing my hands I noticed my digits were naked. I realized that in the chaos of a fleeing toddler and my insatiable need to taste test everything I see, I forgot to ever put my rings back on. I immediately began to cry because there is no way anyone would find them and turn them in. They are rather large rings and quite valuable. My cynical nature assumed they'd end up in a pawn shop or in eBay somewhere. I imagined some man finding them and passing them on as a gift to his wife or mother or girlfriend. I pictured a lady finding them, assuming they were fake and tossing them into the trash.

They're just rings, I know. But two of them are my wedding rings. That needs no explanation. The other one has a long story behind it and it's got more sentimental value than almost anything else I own.

Feeling already defeated and disappointed in myself, I made my way back to the Africa area and asked a cast member if anyone happened to find three women's rings. She asked me to describe them and then went off to fetch them. Imagine my shock.

Someone found them, gave them to the clerk and said, "Some tearful lady will be looking for these so make sure you hang on to 'em for me."

I have no idea who you are or where you live. I wish I did because I'd like to tell you just how much it means to me to have these things back. I'd also like to thank you for showing me that people are good and decent and for reminding me not to be so jaded and cynical all the time. I have a hard time seeing the good in people but you gave me good enough reason to stop and think about it from time to time.

So, to you, the person who found 2 diamond rings and a sapphire and diamond ring at Epcot this past weekend- Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
