Good evening all!

I have a question lately my 4 mo old has been really fussy. Alot of drooling and chewing on the fingers even after nursing. The finger thing really bugs me because sometimes I think he is hungry but when I offer he cries. He been having his normal wets/poopies. And no different foods in the diet. He was having another mini-strike earlier this week because he had gotten scared when I called out to DH cause DS3 who is turning 3 was pooping in his pants (potty training) ever since then he has been out of whack. So what are any signs (for those who seen early teething) that I could be looking for?

TIA!

He's totally teething. Three and four month olds commonly begin drooling and chewing fingers, so he's not early. Both my girls cut their first teeth at around 5 months, but started chewing and such at 3-4 months.

Sounds like teething to me too...I think DD drooled and chewed on fingers all the time from 4mo. up until 8mo. when she cut her first tooth.

Is it normal for some babies to not want to nurse while they are teething?

Yes, I think its dependent on the baby. DD wanted to nurse constantly when she was teething...I think the pressure felt good against her gums. However, it bothers some babies and therefore they may not want to nurse.

I'd try releiving some of the pain through teething tablets or tylenol first and see if he's willing to nurse more then.
