I had planed on nursing my toddler during my pregnancy and still do, but the dr's put me on "corvite" which is an iron supplement. She said that I needed extra iron with twins.
Does anyone know if this is bad to take while nursing my toddler?
I don't want to stop nursing, but I don't know what to do.
help!

Well, congrats on the twins! What wonderful news!
I do not know the answer to your question, but hang in here, someone will be able to look that up for you.

I wouldn't think so, but that's my opinion. All iron does to the body is make the blood a bit heavier, make it look red (when bleeding), and a few other things (that I can't think of.)

Sounds like corvite is just a prenatal vitamin, which most nursing moms take any way.
Iron supplementation while nursing is fine. :)

I agree with Madelsmomma:) If you are uncomfortable taking an iron supplement or it treats your body harshly, there are many ways to increase iron through your diet.
Cooking with an iron skillet for one, using blackstrap molasses is particularly good. I made the iron rich recipe for the cookies in this link and they were a smashing success with my toddlers!

The Dr. put me on EXTRA iron. I've been on a prenatal vitamin since I was first pregnant with DD. I stayed on them during nursing. Now dr. gave me MORE iron in addition to prenatal.
My question is: I know that too much Iron in children can be fatal. If DD is still BF, will she be getting to much iron???
